South West SDF Visits Fru Ndi
The Social Democratic Front, SDF, National Chairman, Ni John Fru, has urged the leaders of the party in the South West to go to the field and reconcile with all the backsliding militants ahead of the his visit. The SDF Chairman made the request last Friday, January 28 at his Ntarikon residence during the presentation of the new South West Provincial Executive Bureau and 2010 wishes to him.
Ni John Fru Ndi recalled that for the past 20 years, SDF militants have gone through torture, bullets, bloodshed etc which have discouraged some militants. He congratulated those who ignored the odds and encouraged them to continue in the fight till Cameroon is changed.
The National Chair, quoting with happiness that SDF remains the strongest party in Cameroon, urged the South West Executive Bureau to go back to the field and fish out militants because of the challenges ahead. He warned that when he visits South West in the days ahead, he would like to get a positive stewardship account of the executive bureau.
He encouraged the South West team that no party can shake them because they have support of the people. He insinuated that President Paul Biya knows that SDF is a popular party and that explains why he would not tolerate a level political terrain. The SDF Chairman, asserting that the visit by the South West team was indicative of the re-affirmation of commitment to bring change, disclosed that with such support, he will continue to “put his finger into President Paul Biya’s eyes” over ELECAM.
The SDF Chair appealed to the South West delegation not to be influenced by detractors who come to them with money in an attempt to dissuade them from the SDF. He equally cautioned them not to be tired in the fight but rather “face politics and shake” South West and be prayerful. The Chairman enjoined the youths to vigorously join the struggle for change so that tomorrow they can even replace him.
While wishing the South West delegation a happy New Year 2010, the National Chairman thanked them for the gifts brought to him. He wished that the SDF as a social family, should continue to socialise and that people should be proud belonging to the SDF, a party respected at the national and international levels.
The Electoral District Chair of Tiko, Mr. Fai Sylvanus, after the Chairman’s speech, declared his readiness to fight in Tiko. The District Chair, observing that though the CPDM got Tiko because of electoral fraud, the CPDM Mayors have done nothing to deserve the people’s confidence and that explains why his fight to liberate the people from the CPDM would not be complicated.
Fai’s only wish was that ELECAM should make a level playground to enable him sweep all the seats for SDF in his constituency. The District Chairman for Buea, Mr. George Ngeke Likiye, pledged his steady move to reconcile with his people and to bring back the fallen ones and those who lost elections and “stayed back”. He promised to reconcile with all those people to constitute a formidable force for SDF’s effective participation in elections for victories.
Mr. Likiye also said that he would break through the ranks of other political parties to cause them understand that SDF is the only reliable party that can bring meaningful change in Cameroon. He consequently announced that a crusade would be launched in Buea to cause people join the SDF to liberate Cameroonians from the CPDM bondage.
The South West Delegation was led by Mr. Tabi Johnson Tanyi. The executive bureau was elected in Kumba on June 6, 2009 headed by Mr. Tabi Johnson Tanyi as Provincial Chairman. The delegation noted that 2010 is a year of expectations in Cameroon because it is preceding election though without the rules of the game made known. That notwithstanding, the South West Executive Committee is alert and set to take on whatever the tune of the political song maybe. Present at the National Chairman’s residence to welcome the South West team were the North West Provincial Chairman, Kum Henry, Hon. Tasi Ntang, Hon. Mbah Ndam, amongst others.
