SDF MP Empowers Youths with FCFA 8 Million

The SDF MP for Bamenda I, II, III and Bali constituency, Hon. Fobi Ncinda Simon, has empowered the youths of his constituency with the sum of FCFA Eight million. The empowerment exercise which took place during the 2010 Youth week was equally a youth week gift to empower the youth for life. The eight million parliamentary grant from Hon. Fobi was shared in different forms to youths in Bamenda I, II, III and Bali and on different days.

The award depended on the needs requested by the different youths. Some youths had equipment like machines, others physical cash to pay schools fees, apprenticeship charges, animal rearing, provision stores etc. The grants to the youths of Bamenda III were shared at Nkwen Fon’s Palace, those of Bamenda I at Bamendakwe Fon’s esplanade, Bamenda II, Commercial Avenue and that of Bali at the Bali Grandstand.

At each stop, Hon. Nchinda Fobi’s message was lucid and concise. He reminded the youths that the grant was in line with the party’s policy of sharing. Hon. Fobi openly impressed the crowd who rallied wherever he visited that when there is little, let there be little for everybody. He reminded the population that the parliamentary grant is people’s money so, he couldn’t siphon people’s money rather, he had created project committees in all the sub-divisions to manage the parliamentary grants.

Hon. Fobi Simon marveled the women that the 2010 parliamentary grant shall empower the women. Commentators observed that Hon. Fobi Nchinda Simon has set the pace in the management of parliamentary grants. In most of his visits to hand over parliamentary grants, he was accompanied by some SDF MPs like Hon. Bujong, Tubah – Bafut constituency.

During the handing over of grants to Bamenda II youths at the Bamenda Grand stand Commercial Avenue, Hon. Esther Ngala, Ndu constituency announced that she was going to do same in Ndu. Hon. Fobi’s “public sound management” is posing a threat to some MPs who managed parliamentary grant as private money. Hon. Fobi has received names like “father to the orphans, man of truth” etc.
